ONONO is a New Zealand psych pop band which started as a home recording project for Jonathan Nott who writes, records, performs, and produces the music. ONONO borrows from fellow Wellington acts Red Sky Blues, Sport Royal and Hans Pucket, literally, reflected in the band's line up as well as being influential in the writing and production of the recordings. ONONO burst onto the scene late 2016 with the release of Bad Posture - a seven track LP written, recorded and performed by Jonathan Nott in his Melrose flat in Wellington.

The seven track album is a woozy spiral of fuzz-laden guitars and mellow vocals held together by Jono’s trademark understated yet deliciously groovy drumming. - Gussie Larkin for lo & behold 2016

Since forming the five-piece “supergroup” live band in early 2017, they have crafted their live set into an emotional rollercoaster with euphoric peaks, hypnotic dance-inducing grooves and visceral breakdowns. The intelligently written psychedelic pop-songs are comprised of instantly familiar hooks, widely accessible melodies and technical satisfaction for the musical nerd.

Thanks to the record’s infectious hooks and swirling melodies, the album quickly captured fans around the country. - Undertheradar.co.nz 2017

So far in 2017 the band has toured throughout the North Island playing several shows in Auckland, Whanganui and homebase Wellington. They have shared the stage with other New Zealand heavy-hitters including Mermaidens and Bespin as well as headlining their own shows in Auckland and Wellington.
